Jaguar Parade

São Paulo

Em 2019, the streets of São Paulo became a true habitat for around 90 impressive stylized jaguars. And among this magnificent collection of sculptures, my jaguar was located in Parque do Masp, captivating all who passed by.

With great care and dedication, I worked on the stylization of my feline masterpiece, using a combination of acrylic paint, spray, and even collages. This unique artistic creation was a special project for me, which would later be auctioned, reaching a significant value in support of the initiative.

The Jaguar Parade, responsible for this urban artistic intervention, had a clear objective: to draw attention to the concerning situation of the country's wildlife, particularly the majestic jaguar, which faces serious risks of extinction. According to Onçafari, one of the organizations benefiting from the event, this species is classified as vulnerable in Brazil. However, in biomes such as the Atlantic Forest, it is considered critically endangered, with fewer than 300 individuals remaining throughout its range.

On November 29, 2019, coinciding with International Jaguar Day, the Artery, the organizer of the exhibition, held an auction at the prestigious Hotel Unique. Half of the funds raised would be allocated to Brazilian institutions focused on the preservation of the jaguar and its precious ecosystem.

The sculptures spread across various areas of the city, from Paulista and Faria Lima avenues to Oscar Freire Street, Ramos de Azevedo Square, Republic Square, and Sé Square, as well as neighborhoods like Santana, Barra Funda, Pinheiros, Perdizes, and Vila Mariana, among others. Each location offered a unique experience to admirers of these wild art pieces, conveying the importance of protecting and preserving Brazilian fauna.
